Quilts & Life Lessons
The walls of the RCR facility contain something not often seen in a medical environment. They’re filled with hand-made quilts. They add a home-like touch to our spaceand something more. With several staff members who enjoy quilting as a hobby, the walls of our “home-away-from home” seemed a natural place to share the fruits of those efforts. One wall features quilts that are to be donated to fundraisers for worthy causes, such as breast cancer research. Others have sentimental value, like the one made by a staff member’s grandmother to celebrate her arrival. It was meant for her hope chest, but now provides hope and comfort to our visitors. We also have quilts on loan from the Rochester Quilt Guild, “Pieces of Work,” and we’re happy to display the works of others.
The very act of making a quiltor of appreciating onecontains valuable life lessons. It involves connecting different pieces, patching them together to create a unique item that is both beautiful and practical. Quilts are both an expression of creativity and a representation of comfort and caring. Perhaps that is why we like them so much at RCR.

Rochester Clinical Research performs clinical research trials and studies for pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies. We rapidly recruit and screen quality volunteers to participate in clinical studies, and we maintain a large database of volunteers. Study volunteers receive free study-related medical care, investigational medicines, and a monetary stipend to compensate for their time and travel. RCR studies include therapeutic areas and drug categories such as weight loss, diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol, flu vaccines, and smoking cessation. Our state-of-the-art medical office facility is staffed by highly qualified, caring physicians, investigators, and nurses. RCR is located in Rochester NY and serves the Finger Lakes region of New York. RCR is a WBENC-Certified Women's Business Enterprise.
