About the Study

Type 2 diabetes mellitus is a chronic condition that affects the way your body processes blood sugar (glucose). It occurs when the body becomes resistant to insulin or doesn’t produce enough insulin to maintain normal blood sugar levels. Common symptoms include increased thirst, frequent urination, fatigue, and slow healing of wounds. Over time, unmanaged type 2 diabetes can lead to serious complications like heart disease, nerve damage, kidney issues, and vision problems. While there is no cure, the condition can be managed through lifestyle changes, medications, and regular monitoring of blood sugar levels.

The purpose of this study is to compare how well three doses of the investigational product work versus a placebo in improving blood sugar control (A1C levels) in people with poorly controlled type 2 diabetes who are on 1-3 glucose-lowering medications.
