About the Study

The purpose of this study is to develop protection against urinary tract infection due to E. coli bacteria (a common cause of UTI).  A vaccine could cut down on the need to prescribe antibiotics which is currently the only treatment for this infection.  There are no current proven prevention strategies for UTI.  A successful vaccine could help reduce antibiotic resistance (when antibiotics become ineffective when overused). There is a 25% chance of placebo in this study.

There is no cost to participate in this study and health insurance is not required nor needed.
