Diversity is a fact. Inclusion is how we act.

“Diversity and inclusion are incredibly important in the clinical trial environment,” said Kelley Powers, VP of Strategy and Operations. At RCR, diversity and inclusion are not just a matter of fairness, she added, “it’s a matter of science.”

According to Powers, “A diverse environment leads to more diverse subjects. Diversity in clinical trials is vital for advancing scientific knowledge and improving healthcare outcomes, as it ensures fair representation of individuals from various backgrounds, fosters innovation, and enhances the applicability of research findings.”

At Rochester Clinical Research, we are committed to promoting Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and

Belonging (DEI) in all aspects of our clinical research activities. We strive to embrace diversity and treat all individuals with respect, understanding the importance of valuing their unique backgrounds and perspectives.

Moreover, by acknowledging and addressing systemic biases, we aim to ensure equitable opportunities for everyone, fostering an environment where everyone feels valued and empowered to contribute. We believe that by embracing diversity, we not only strengthen our research endeavors but also promote innovation and enhance the generalizability of our findings.

Our goal with this “RCR Allyship Lunch & Learn” is to build stronger relationships with the diverse LGBTQ+ community. We aim to foster a deeper understanding of scientific inquiry, so that clinical trials can achieve a richer racial composition and tap into the opportunity of advancing medical research.
