Irritable Bowel Syndrome with Diarrhea

Adults 18 to 80 years of age may qualify for a study evaluating an investigational treatment for irritable bowel syndrome with diarrhea (IBS-D) or irritable bowel syndrome with mixed bowel habits (IBS-M). Participants in this study must have a diagnosis of IBS-D or IBS-M and symptoms including abdominal pain.

About the Study

Researchers are studying an investigational treatment to better understand whether it may help reduce abdominal pain and improve abdominal symptoms in adults with IBS-D and IBS-M. Study assessments include symptom diaries and questionnaires that measure abdominal pain, bowel habits, symptom severity, and overall health status.

Qualifications

You may be able to join if you:

  • Are 18 to 80 years of age.
  • Have a diagnosis of IBS-D or IBS-M according to Rome IV criteria.
  • Have moderate or severe IBS symptoms based on study screening assessments.
  • Have abdominal pain symptoms that meet study requirements during the run-in period.
  • If you have IBS-D, have diarrhea symptoms during the run-in period that meet study requirements.
  • If you have IBS-M, have mixed bowel habit symptoms during the run-in period that meet study requirements.
  • Are willing to attend study visits and complete study procedures, which may include physical exams, ECGs, laboratory tests, electronic symptom diaries, and questionnaires.
